FUN AND FRIENDS
. . . what it was like to be six?
Every day was a new adventure and fun and friends were what mattered most. Well in Scouting, we still believe that.
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association, aged between 6 and 8 years old. The Beaver Scouts meet in their Colony of up to 24 members, in lodges of 4 to 6 Beavers.
Enjoying activities, going on trips and making friends are all part of what makes Beavers so much fun for girls as well as boys. As well as earning activity badges, Beavers Scouts get to go on camps and sleepovers, often for the first time.
Beaver Scouts also enjoy;
• being creative
• playing games
• going on visits
• getting to know other people
• discovering the worlds of science, nature and technology
• caring – responding to the needs of others in their local, national and international communities
Due to the high demand for Beaver Scouts we opened a second Beaver Scout Colony in November 2014 and now have the Iron Colony and the Steel Colony. However, there is usually a 6 month waiting list for Beaver Scouts, so we advise parents to enquire about joining shortly after their child turns five, so they can be added to the waiting list.
